Online Retreat with Ajahn Anan
22 – 29 March 2025
You are warmly invited to join us for this retreat. Each day will include meditation, chanting, and Dhamma teachings from Ajahn Anan and other members of the Sangha. The meditation sessions will be led by the monks at Wat Marp Jan.
You will also be practicing alongside good friends from around the world, many of whom have found that this shared commitment gives them inner strength, helping them meditate longer and persevere through difficulties.
This is a good opportunity to sincerely cultivate the Noble Path from your own home, developing mindfulness, samādhi, clarity, and wisdom—steadily lightening your burdens and moving ever closer to Nibbāna.
You are welcome to join for the entire retreat, but if your circumstances do not allow, you may also drop in whenever you are able.
May this retreat bring you peace, strength, and deep insight.

About Ajahn Anan (Phra Rajvajiranyan)
Venerable Ajahn Anan Akiñcano took ordination under Venerable Ajahn Chah in 1975 at the age of 22. He spent his early years as a monk living with his teacher, attending on him and receiving his wise guidance.
In 1984, Ajahn Anan established his own branch monastery, Wat Marp Jan, in the east of Thailand. Starting off with nine monks, the community has now grown to around 50. His compassionate presence and diverse teaching approach has attracted students from all over the world.
Ajahn Anan’s teachings emphasise being aware in the present moment, establishing our hearts in kindness, finding inner peace, and reflecting on the nature of our bodies, minds and lives.

Schedule for Online Retreat
Please note that the evening program is different from previous retreats—there will be a meditation session after the evening chanting. If Ajahn Anan has the time and energy, on some nights he may answer questions.
Questions & Answers
Due to constraints in Ajahn Anan’s time and energy, it is likely we will have a meditation session most nights after the evening chanting instead of the Q&A session that we have had in previous retreats. He does, however, intend to talk about the topics asked in the questions submitted during his morning discourses, so you are encouraged to listen for answers in those, and we may still have a few evening Q&A periods.
The Q&A form will be published here few days before the retreat.
Chanting Guide
The verses we recite together during the morning and evening sessions can be found in the Wat Marp Jan Chanting Book: Wat Marp Jan Pali-English Chanting Book
Recordings
As some participants will be joining from different timezones, Dhamma talks & Q&A sessions will be uploaded to Ajahn Anan Dhamma YouTube channel.
Those who missed the Dhamma talks can watch the videos at your convenience: https://www.youtube.com/ajahnanan
