Meditation Retreat with Ajahn Anan<\/strong><\/h2><\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\nY<\/span>ou are warmly invited to join us for this retreat, whether you attend in person at the monastery or online from your own home. Each day will include meditation, chanting, and Dhamma teachings from Ajahn Anan and other members of the Sangha. The meditation sessions are led by the monks at Wat Marp Jan, and you will also be practicing alongside good friends from around the world.<\/p>\n

Many have found that this shared commitment\u2014whether in person or online\u2014gives them inner strength, helping them meditate longer and persevere through difficulties. And receiving regular teachings from the Sangha helps give them confidence and clarity in the path of practice and the fruits it leads to.<\/p>\n

This is a good opportunity to sincerely cultivate the Noble Path from wherever you are, developing mindfulness, sam\u0101dhi, clarity, and wisdom\u2014steadily lightening your burdens and moving ever closer to nibb\u0101na.<\/p>\n

Those coming in person are expected to join for the entire nine days. For those attending online, however, if your circumstances do not allow you to participate in the entire schedule, you may drop in whenever you are able.<\/p>\n

About Ajahn Anan (Phra Rajvajiranyan)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Venerable Ajahn Anan Aki\u00f1cano took ordination under Venerable Ajahn Chah in 1975 at the age of 22. He spent his early years as a monk living with his teacher, attending on him and receiving his wise guidance.<\/p>\n

In 1984, Ajahn Anan established his own branch monastery, Wat Marp Jan, in the east of Thailand. Starting off with nine monks, the community has now grown to around 55. His compassionate presence and diverse teaching approach has attracted students from all over the world.<\/p>\n

Ajahn Anan\u2019s teachings emphasise being aware in the present moment, establishing our hearts in kindness, finding inner peace, and reflecting on the nature of our bodies, minds and lives in order to free ourselves from delusion and realise true happiness.<\/p>\n

Joining the retreat online provides a full and comprehensive experience for those who are able to join the entire schedule. Ajahn Anan has also kindly made the retreat open to those who can only participate in part, for whatever reason\u2014family or work commitments, or time-zone differences, for example\u2014so that all who have the faith and energy to join may still benefit.
